Try your luck with this bold yet elegant good luck charm. This 'joy bird' is surrounded by beautiful Arabic inscriptions bearing well wishes to the owner of this woodburned basswood plaque. The medieval motif of the bird and the inscription originates from a ceramic bowl made in Fatimid Egypt in the 12th century. Bowls with inscriptions around the rim with an animal motif in the center were very common in medieval Islamic pottery. We have brought this amazing design to this 10" round basswood plaque in order to bring joy and luck to your home or office space.
