The artifact presented on this t-shirt's design is the head of a lion incense burner made by an artist from the Seljuk period named Ja'far ibn Muhammad Ibn Ali. He made this for a Seljuk prince in the 12th century and it is a remarkable piece of metalwork currently housed by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The lion isn't a fierce beast but rather more like a cute kitty. Since the Seljuk lion incense burner is one of our favorite artifacts, we thought it would make the perfect tote bag for all those cat lovers and history enthusiasts out there.
