This 11 x 11" framed and ready-to-hang shadow box wall art features a 12th century Fatimid arabesque motif of a bird and a kufic inscription surrounding the border bearing wishes of good luck and fortune for the owner. This motif originally appeared on a 12th century lustreware bowl. Animals and inscriptions of good tidings for the owner were common decorative elements in medieval Islamic art objects and especially on ceramics. We wanted to recreate that artistic tradition and beauty in a modern home decor piece. This artwork is a perfect eye-turner for your home or office space and a wonderful conversation piece.
