This beautiful woodburned, handcrafted, and handpainted wall hanging was inspired from an 18th century manuscript of the Quran which was produced in either Morocco or Algeria. Arabic script written in the "Maghribi" or western style of handwriting is a combination of angles and curves which makes the writing distinct from other forms of Arabic calligraphy.
This particular woodburned wall hanging is the opening verse of Surah 19, titled Mariam (Mary). It reads, "[This verse is] A mention of the mercy of your Lord to His servant Zacharia."
The art is 10 x 12 inches. The script has been woodburned, and the plaque has been stained and painted.
