The source of inspiration for this laser engraved one-of-a-kind rustic wooden wall hanging is a 16th century book cover. The original book cover, in the Detroit Institute of the Arts, is a Safavid era Persian leather book cover painted in tints of gold. We have captured the Persian garden images from that beautiful work of art and transferred them here to an engraved wooden wall hanging. This beautiful wooden scene depicts a garden scene with all types of birds flying through the trees which are ripe with flowers and leaves. This image, with cloud scrolls, influenced by contemporary Chinese art, is typical of Safavid and Persian manuscript miniatures from the time.
