This natural wooden slab with live-edge has been laser-etched with a medieval 11th century Seljuk Quran. The verses on this beautiful work of wall art for your home or office feature the final lines from Surat al-Fath (Sura:48). The artist of this Quran used a fair amount of creativity in their emphasis of "Muhammad Rasulallah" written in larger and more elaborately decorated calligraphy with arabesque embellishments.
The medieval manuscript folio of the Quran from which this artwork was derived, is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The vertical script, use of vegetal design, and emphasis on key phrases through more elaborate calligraphy make this particular Seljuk Quran a rare and fine example of medieval Quran manuscripts.
